Every brutal act stems from reality
Each act of violence has a reason. It's just that some reasons make no sense at all.

"...lawful persons can quickly turn into monsters once conditions change; equally, some who are most dislikeable can end up showing remarkable acts of kindness. There is no clear formula as to why a person acts in a violent way."
Professor Brad Evans, University of Bath

True Black
Jack was sixteen. When his father shot his mother in front of Jack and then blew his own head off, Jack took photographs of the carnage.
These photographs were the foundation for Jack’s adult art; but his art needed real people – real dead people.
But he couldn’t use real dead people. Could he?...

Tradition
Why is it that we will always try to reason with 5-year-olds, but, when teens need to talk, we slam the door in their faces?
It isn’t wise to underestimate a pissed-off teenage girl with a katana; it’s suicidal to underestimate nine of them.
You bully the kids, you pay the price.

Fractured
Twins from a violently dysfunctional home face terror, and their only defence – their love for each other – is torn away.
Now there’s only one twin, alone and on the run – with a delusional psychopath on her trail wanting to steal her eyes.
"Fractured" - A haunting psychological thriller about identity, love, and deception.
NEW! AUDIO SHORT STORIES
These audio books are - generally - taken from short film scripts written by the legend himself, Macmillan. Unlike his novels, they tend to explore the behaviour of odd or emotionally-inadequate characters. They (tend to) lack the violence of the novels, and compensate with a more Kafka-esque view of humanity.

Poster Girl
Nigel is in love with a girl he sees every day on a billboard on his way home from work. But, not surprisingly, things don't work out for the best.
A Kafka-esque story that has the dubious honour of having been rejected by none other than Playboy magazine back in the day when Hef was still running it.
A four-minute listen, and you are forgiven if you think it is narrated by Benedict Cumberbach.
Currently being made into a short movie by Yeah! Productions
- and dedicated to Dennis, Cathi, and the Ugly Sisters

Idiots & Eggshells
Another love story, sort of, as Malcolm takes his morning constitutional around the park. He is probably as inadequate as Nigel, but with a higher success rate.
More of a Harry Potter-esque tale, I think it will work better as a movie than an audio book, so I will continue negotiations with Jo.
This one is a seven-minute listen, so almost double the thrill of "Poster Girl" for no extra cost. I never gave Hef the option on this one.
Under consideration as a short film

The Heist
More of a Milligan-type tale of a bank robbery that could have progressed better.
It wasn't - isn't - intended as a comedy but, rather, more a bending of reality. It could almost be real.

Outcasts
A bit of a risqué one in this woke-riddled world. But it sometimes seems that the people with the real problems get lost between the bigots and the political opportunists.
Maybe - just maybe - we can make them a little un-lost with a little bread-and-butter common sense.
This is a scene from a feature film script by Macmillan called “When the rabbit hole closes”. Nobody is even considering making even the movie or the short. Oh boo-hoo…
